Word Play Speech Therapy offers comprehensive speech and language services.
All services are private pay. Payment is due at the time of service through the Ivy Pay app. Ivy Pay accepts all major credit cards including HSA/FSA cards. Cash or checks are also accepted.
Upon request, a superbill can be provided which you can then submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your insurance company prior to the start of services to determine your specific out-of-network requirements and benefits.
Consultations
Initial phone consultations are provided at no charge. This 15 minute conversation enables us to learn about each other and determine if Word Play Speech Therapy’s services are the right fit for your family.
Screenings
Screenings are a "snapshot" of your child's speech and language. They help determine if there is a need for a full speech and language evaluation.
Evaluations
Speech evaluations provide detailed information on your child's speech sound inventory. Both informal testing and formal testing is provided during a speech evaluation. Together we will also discuss words that are difficult to your child to say and what words are important for your child to be able to say including their favorite TV show or sibling names.
Language evaluations provide information on your child's receptive and expressive language skills. Both informal and formal language testing is provided during a language evaluation. We will discuss how your child communicates, their vocabulary, how they answer questions, follow directions and more.
If your child has had an evaluation within 1 year, a full evaluation is not required. Contact us to discuss if your child's evaluation from another provider can be used.
Speech & Language Therapy
Speech and language therapy is provided to children ages 18 months to 9 years in the location of your choice. Therapy can be done in your home, a community location (library, playground, church), daycare, school, or at our home office in O'Fallon Missouri.
Therapy is tailored to your child's interests, needs and goals. Each session is play-based which means it incorporates toys, games and lots of fun. Speech therapy should be fun because children learn best when they are interested in what they are doing!
Trainings
Community trainings on speech and language development, integrating speech and language into classroom routines, working with late talkers and more are available upon request.
The parent training "It Takes Two to Talk" is offered virtually. This training teaches families how to integrate language strategies into everyday routines. Time commitment is a minimum of 1 hour per week.
Speech & Language Kits
Word Play Boxes are available to purchase online. Pricing varies from kit to kit. Word Play Boxes are not intended as a substitute for speech and language therapy but as a supplement for families to work on speech and language therapy at home.
