About
About Word Play
Word Play is a therapist-owned pediatric therapy practice providing speech therapy and occupational therapy for children through a child-led, play-based, and neuro-affirming approach.
We support children in the environments where they learn and grow best—offering services in homes, private schools, early childhood centers, and at Enchanted Playroom. By meeting children in familiar, meaningful spaces, we create opportunities for real-life learning and lasting progress.
Our Purpose
At Word Play, our purpose is simple and powerful:
To help children communicate, connect and participate in their world—without changing who they are.
We believe every child deserves to be understood, valued and supported in a way that honors their individuality.
What Makes Us Different
We specialize in child-led, play-based, neuro-affirming speech and occupational therapy for children. That means:
- We follow the child’s interests to build motivation and engagement
- We focus on strengths, not deficits
- We support authentic communication and development without forcing conformity
Our approach moves beyond drills and worksheets. Instead, we use meaningful play and connection to help children develop communication, regulation, and functional life skills that carry over into everyday routines.
Our Values
Everything we do is grounded in our core values:
- Playful – We believe joy and engagement are essential for learning
- Strengths-Based – We build on what each child does well
- Integrity – We provide honest, ethical, and evidence-based care
