Support Your Educators with Practical, Research-Based Training

Word Play Speech Therapy offers dynamic, in-person professional development courses designed specifically for early childhood educators. The training provides practical, research-backed techniques to foster communication and motor skills in preschoolers, with strategies teachers can implement immediately-no prep required.

Educators will receive helpful resources to share with families to encourage learning to extend beyond the classroom.

"We had the pleasure of training our staff with Ali, using her Building Blocks training for Pre-K. What a worthwhile and amazing experience she put together for educators! Our staff at Adam Lamb Preschool left feeling excited to try new techniques, validated in the set-up of our curriculum and empowered to help all of our students get the best all-around education. Thank you for offering such an educational and fun training!"

Speech-Language and Occupational Screenings

Word Play Speech Therapy offers quick and efficient speech, language, and occupational therapy screenings to help identify children who may benefit from further evaluation or support.

Screenings often provide a helpful starting point for conversations with families about developmental concerns and possible next steps for support. Our goal is to partner with educators and parents to ensure children receive the guidance and services they need to thrive.

Word Play Consultations: Empowering Schools with Strategies

Initial consultation

Empower your classroom with expert guidance from a licensed therapist. Word Play offers personalized consultations designed to support students with communication and body motor challenges including articulation, language, social communication, or overall classroom participation.

Each consultation will include observation of the classroom teachers, environment and collaboration with educators to identify communication barriers. The therapist will suggest practical, easy-to-implement strategies to improve communication and life skills throughout classroom routines, centers and circle time.

Following the consultation, your school will receive a comprehensive written summary including:

  • Recommended accommodations

  • Resource suggestions

  • Specific evidence-based speech-language and occupational strategies to improve students' communication and life skills.

Whether you're seeking input for a specific student or general classroom strategies, Word Play's goal is to equip you with tools that promote meaningful communication and inclusive learning—one step at a time.
